1/144 Fairchild C-123B/K Provider "Royal Flight" Royal Thai Air Force

        ประเทศไทย ในปี 2514 ฝูง.61 ได้รับ บ.ล.4 อีก 4 เครื่อง และในปี 2515 กับปี 2516 อีกปีละ 2 เครื่อง  ซึ่งในรุ่นที่ได้รับในปี 2515 จะพิเศษหน่อยก็ตรงเป็น บ. HC-123 B  ซึ่งเป็นรุ่นที่มีเรดาร์ติดตั้งอยู่ที่ตรงส่วนหัวของเครื่อง  และเคยใช้งานอยู่ในหน่วยยามฝั่งของสหรัฐฯ (U.S. Coast Guard) ในภารกิจการค้นหาและกู้ภัยทางทะเลมาก่อน  ทำให้ ทอ.ไทย มี บ.ล.4 (C-123 B) รวมทั้งสิ้น 22 เครื่อง   นอกจากนี้ในปี 2516 ยังเป็นปีแรกที่ ทอ.ไทย ได้รับ บ.แบบ C - 123 K  อีกจำนวน  8 เครื่องด้วย  และได้มีการกำหนดชื่อ บ.รุ่นนี้ว่า “ เครื่องบินลำเลียงแบบที่ 4 ก ” หรือ บ.ล.4 ก  และบรรจุเข้าประจำการในฝูง.61 ร่วมกับ บ.ล.4 (C-123 B)  ในปี 2518 ทอ.ไทย ยังได้รับ บ.ล.4 ก  เพิ่มเติมอีก 10 เครื่อง และในปี 2519 อีก 2 เครื่อง  รวมจำนวน  บ.ล.4 ก ที่ ทอ.ไทย ได้รับทั้งสิ้นจำนวน 20 เครื่อง   ซึ่งจะว่าไปแล้ว บ,ล.4 ก หรือ C - 123 K นั้น  เดิมก็คือ C-123 B นั่นเอง  แต่ได้รับการดัดแปลงให้ติดตั้งเครื่องยนต์ไอพ่นแบบเทอร์โบเจ็ต รุ่น J 85 GE 17  ซึ่งให้แรงขับ 2,850 ปอนด์ ที่ใต้ปีกข้างละ 1 เครื่อง เพื่อช่วยเสริมสมรรถนะในระหว่างการบินขึ้นและร่อนลงจอด

               ภารกิจของ บ.ล.4 และ บ.ล.4 ก  นอกเหนือจากภารกิจที่ได้กล่าวไปในช่วงต้นแล้ว  ก็ยังเคยได้รับภารกิจพิเศษในการถวายการบินในฐานะเป็นเครื่องบินพระที่นั่ง  แด่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว และ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ อีกด้วย  โดยในปี 2516 ได้ดัดแปลง บ.ล.4 หมายเลข 0-40571 (หมายเลข ทอ. ล.4 -18/14)  นอกจากนี้ในปี 2519 ก็ยังได้ดัดแปลง บ.ล.4 ก หมายเลข 55-569 (หมายเลข ทอ. ล.4 ก - 7/16) ให้เป็น บ.พระที่นั่ง ทดแทน บ.ล.4 พระที่นั่งเครื่องเดิมอีกด้วย   ซึ่งการจัด บ.ทั้งสองแบบให้เป็น บ.พระที่นั่ง นั้นก็เพื่อให้เหมาะสมกับสภาพสนามบินที่จะเสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปในขณะนั้นนั่น เอง
