เครื่องบินลำเลียงของกองทัพอากาศไทยที่ทรงคุณค่าและความสามารถในการปฎิบัติภารกิจตามที่ได้รับมอบหมายนานับประการหลังจากที่ได้รับมอบจากทางการสหรัฐอเมริกาเริ่มแรกเข้าสู่ในยุคสงครามเกาหลีในนามหน่วยบินVictoryโดยขึ้นกับกองทัพอากาศสหรัฐภายใต้การสนับสนุนจากองค์การสหประชาชาติ"UN"จากปฎิบัติภารกิจเรื่อยมาจนกระทั่งในยุคสงครามเวียดนามในภารกิจลำเลียงสนับสนุนทางการรบและเมื่อกองทัพอากาศไทยได้รับมอบเครื่องเพื่อประจำการในกองทัพเพิ่มขึ้นจากการช่วยเหลือจากทางทหาร(จัสแม็ก)กับการสนับสนุนทางการรบกับการต่อสู้กับลัทธิคอมมูนิสต์ประกอบกับสร้างเรื่องราววีรกรรมแบบปิดทองหลังพระซึ่งจากการสนับสนุนลำเลียงในภารกิจการรบมาสู่การต่อสู้กับภัยความแห้งแล้งในโครงการฝนหลวงและภารกิจในงานโครงการตามพระราชดำริ ทุกครั้งกับการช่วยเหลือพี่น้องประชาชนยามที่เกิดทุกข์ภัยพิบัติเป็นสุดยอดม้างานสำคัญของกองทัพอากาศไทย ที่น่าจดจำไปนานเท่านาน
